Hey, I'm Paras Sharma!

A Little About Me
Hey! I’m Paras Sharma, a 17-year-old web developer from India. I love coding and creating beautiful, functional websites. I'm passionate about problem-solving, web design, and learning new technologies. My journey into the world of programming started in 2021, and since then, I’ve been exploring Python, Web Development, and Data Structures.
Education
While my marks weren’t always reflective of my abilities, I firmly believe that **skills and practical knowledge** are much more important. Through these years, I learned a lot more than what any grade could show. Here’s what I took away from my academic experiences:
RBSE 10th Grade
Year: 2023
Percentage: 64.33%
In my 10th grade, I learned important foundations in subjects like mathematics, science, and languages. Though my marks weren't extraordinary, I realized that I was more drawn to subjects that involved problem-solving and logical thinking, which led me to programming. This was a crucial turning point in discovering my passion for coding.
CBSE 12th Grade
Year: 2025
Percentage: 38.60% (Essential Repeat)
Although I didn’t perform well in the 12th grade, I was heavily focused on self-learning programming and web development during this time. While I learned essential concepts in subjects like physics and chemistry, I found that my real growth came from developing technical skills, especially in Python, JavaScript, and web technologies. For me, mastering coding was far more rewarding than focusing solely on traditional academics.
Complimentary Education & Self-Learning
Learning doesn’t stop with formal education! Here’s what I’ve been learning through self-study:
Python Programming
Started: November 2021
Python has been my gateway to programming. I've explored everything from basic syntax to more advanced topics like data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming. Python has allowed me to create small projects, automate repetitive tasks, and explore machine learning fundamentals.
Web Development
Started: October 2023
Web development has been a fascinating journey for me, from building simple static websites with HTML and CSS to diving into dynamic content using JavaScript and frameworks like React.js. I’ve learned how to structure web applications, handle API calls, and deploy websites for real-world use.
C++ & Data Structures
Started: March 2025
Currently, I'm diving deep into C++ and learning about algorithms and data structures. It's teaching me how to write more efficient code, solve complex problems, and think about performance optimizations—skills that will help me as I tackle larger and more complicated projects in the future.
My Ongoing Project – SilentGoals.app
SilentGoals.app is a passion project I'm currently developing—an elegant, private goal-tracking platform built for people who prefer to work silently and let their progress speak for itself. The core philosophy behind SilentGoals is simple: not every ambition needs to be shared, and not every journey needs an audience.
The app is being built using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) and deployed on a custom-configured VPS. It's fully self-hosted, giving me hands-on experience with server setup, backend infrastructure, and deployment workflows.
Core Features:
- 📌 Private Goal Creation: Users can create personal goals and break them down into manageable steps—only they can see and manage their data.
- 📊 Progress Tracking: Visual progress indicators and stats to help users see how consistent they’ve been, without social comparison or noise.
- 🧠 Mindful Design: The UI is clean, minimal, and free from distractions, promoting a focused experience that encourages deep work and reflection.
- 🔒 Data Privacy First: All goal data is private by default. No public profiles. No social feeds. Just you and your goals.
- 💰 Premium Plan (via Razorpay): Users can support development and unlock advanced features such as weekly review summaries, goal reminders, motivational nudges, and backup/export options.
SilentGoals.app is more than just another productivity tool—it's a quiet companion for people who believe in making real progress behind the scenes. I’m building it not only for others, but also as a tool I personally want to use daily to stay aligned with my vision and values.
